Biography:
Living in Vermont it’s no wonder when Rich decided to head to Florida around fifteen years ago to end up in one of the more rural parts of Florida, the Everglades. Rich has fished for most of his life and in many places throughout the country. Kayak fishing in the Everglades and the rest of Florida has opened up the door to endless other fishing opportunities and you will always find Rich fishing and exploring new areas.
What started out as a means to access hard to get to areas to fish, kayaking has become a passion for Rich for fishing and exploring Florida’s backwaters. After deciding to start guiding a few years ago with the ever growing popularity of kayak fishing he has enjoyed teaching and showing new anglers to the sport the ropes of kayak fishing along with guiding other kayak anglers that may want to target a specific species. Other than the fishing, kayaking with Rich also offers the opportunity to get up close with other wildlife and being a Florida Master Naturalist to also learn a little something about it and also the area’s environment.
Rich also writes fishing reports and articles for various publications in Florida and around the country and is an amateur photographer. He guides mainly from the Naples, Florida area down into the Everglades.
Accomplishments/Experience:
Placed in a few kayak fishing slam tournaments before retiring to concentrate more on my guide business. I’ve been guiding for approximately the last 6 years. This year I will be getting back into kayak tournament fishing after joining up with the Florida Paddlesports fishing team in Cape Coral, Florida
