I started kayak fishing the Texas Coast for a number of reasons. Simplicity. Accessibility. Tranquility. I enjoy exploring new areas and finding untapped fishing holes. The Texas Coast has hundreds of back-lakes and ponds that are too muddy, oyster-ridden, or shallow to access by any other means. Kayak fishing has enabled me to reach areas and fish that receive very little pressure. I love fishing out of a paddle-powered craft because it's the stealthiest tool in the skinny waters I frequent most. There's just something about the serenity of and closeness with nature of kayaking that speaks to my essence.
